As a general purpose pleasure angler who prefers a bit of privacy, hence not interested in Leazes Park, I was thinking of joining the club because of this particular water. Can anybody give me any further information on it? The size of the water and depths, types of fish and access to it. From what I can see on Google earth it looks to be similar in size to Dissington which effectively for my purposes it would be replacing.
Any information would be welcome before I decide where to spend this years club membership allowance.

thorny is a excellent water,with some very big fish in,all the usual coarse fish in there including- tench,perch,roach,rudd and a few very nice ghosties,iv'e only ever fished the dam wall and have always had a good few fish,it's the only place that can make my get my bits stuff out and well worth fishing,hope you join up and enjoy yourself there.

Thanks for that I`ll have a look up at it when the weather improves a bit. Certainly looks better value than Dissington for the year.
