Has anyone had anything other than perch. I did think that I'd seena roach last season, and heard talk of giant beasties snapping 8lb line, but has anyone had anything?

Carp were illegally put in there 20 years ago I am told.

i've fished forresters a few times now and appart from perch i have had small roach and what looked like small silver rudd. Both these the roach and rudd were caught on the pole and when i re-turned to the waggler it was only perch , i'm starting to think its the better presentation of the pole that is producing more species.

no carp or tench then?

a 3lb roach, that makes sense as some of the roach in the river run to good sizes.

I caught a 10 0z perch there about two weeks ago but it was on the drop and a bit of a fluke- not even a bite other than that- it was a bright day though. I think the perch are feasting on the tadpoles at the minute. Saw a large silver fish which tallies with the 3lb roach mentioned earlier. Anyone got any tips on fishing forresters ?

i find that fishing the pole or waggler with a light setup plummed just on the bottom often gets the bites, also fish a combo of worm and red maggot just chop and change between them and feed both at the same time but in moderation.

i've fished a simple waggler set up over chopped worm for good perch quite close in at the nearer pegs. I'd like to see whether anything would pick up sweetcorn if it was pre baited for a while?
