| It was at the park, caught on luncheon meat and 4Lb dackron hook length after trying sooooooo long to get into one I was giddy as a goat. I can even remember the first carp I ever saw on the bank. Iain caught it at Marden I guess now I would see it as no more than a scraper double but after catching nowt but bits is up until that point it was humungous to me. He cught it on a 9Ft quivertip using popped up bread, happy days, happy days. When I think back to the fun I used to have with the sh1t gear I started with it makes me wonder why I bothered changing them. |

| 'cos like many of us, you're a tackle tart! I've loved going back to wandering fly fishing up and down the river tributeries in northumberland and cumria. Because of the miles I walk, and the rough terrain, I only take one older rod with me, plus a waistcoat full of bits. The lack of clutter is very refresshing and it means that I'm able to cover many miles in a day. When I go to fish thornborough i take the box, net bag, holdall, rod bag (with at least 3 rods in.....and I invariably fish float on the same rod)......i struggle to walk 20 yeards from the car to the bank....and I don't catch any more, and often I'll have less as it's harder to move to a more productive swim........................but I'm still a bit of a tackle tart, so I'll keep on doing it. I remember the first time i visited forresters before the club got involved. I remember thinking that it was a bit of a boys own adventure......an unknown pond and I was going to fish it with a tub of worms and a telescopic rod I had in the car. That was one of the best trips I've ever had. |

| mine was a double out of marden quarry, on a seven foot wand (quivertip), caught on popped up bread.cast to an island in two foot of water, the conditions were less than favourable with northerly winds ,bright sunshine , gale force winds, torrential rain, driving snow thunder and lightning, and a very high barometric pressure of 55,001 if i remember correctly, oh and it was very busy with dog walkers as it was the great north dog sled championships that day. oh and hutch fell in! tsunami _________________ Tis better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt [b]
